    Reverse HyperThreading does not exist.

I'm actually afraid to post this on this forum. We've got a couple of boneheads who are bound to cause some trouble. Anyways, back on topic.

    ------------------------

Its a shame. If AMD had this, that meant that Core Multiplexing (which is the same thing) would be in Intel's Conroe as well. Now it seems like neither of them are really real. Either way, Conroe would've owned any AMD proecssor out there, but this would've given us an enormous increase in the 90% of our applications and code that are still single-threaded. Oh well, it was a nice dream.

Same source that started the original mayhem.

APOLOGIES to the fanbois, but I am about to kill some nice AMD dreams. Reverse Hyperthreading does not exist. It's one of the bigger loads of bluff and bluster cooked up in a long time.

AMD doesn't have any such technology. It would like to have it but even the upcoming K8L quad core won't be able to present a dual or quad core as a single core to the Operating system.

On the other hand AMD doesn’t not need such a marchitecture as the operating systems are getting used to a dual and later quad machines. It's just a dream that someone set afloat but AMD doesn't have such a marchitecture.

oops, i didn't really notice until you mentioned it. Sorry looking at like 4 different forums

Is funny thought. I seem pictures of Intel bios, with this reverse stuff being an option, it had a different name. What do you make of that? Intel blowing smoke signals too. One more thing, i would take anything the inquierer says with a grain of salt.

Stupid AMD & Intel they are just dangling the carrot. They probably have processors that are 10 times as advanced as the ones coming out. They just keep you going back for more. lol

Its called Core Multiplexing in the BadAxe BIOS, but we can only guess at what that really is. As far as I know, Core Multiplexing hasn't been used as a way of saying Reverse HyperThreading. If it has, then Intel definately has the tech, since its already in their BIOS.

And papi, you clicked on my link, but didn't read what the text of the link said. The Inquirer is the same website that started this mayhem, so if you're wiling to believe that RHT exists because of them, then you should also believe that it doesn't exist when they debunk it themselves.

That said, I still like the Inquirer after this. They have the balls to go ahead with stories others won't (maybe for good reason). Anyways, you don't have to read it if you don't want to, but its there. I also love their sense of humor, good stuff.

The Inq Can blow me. "The 1900XT Will have 48 Pixle Pipes" lol. They ment to say "Pixel shaders"

Im sure one of the two companies will come out with Reverse HT. I dont know when though.
