    Re: AMD vs. Intel

AMD is for gamers. Intel is for poor office desktops. If you look at the benchmarks comparing both flagship cpu's, amd's fx-62 outperforms the intel conroe.

You little retard, calling me an Intel fanboy. I'm typing from an AMD system and still know more about AMD than I do about Intel. Its all about the performance kid. I don't know how little pricks like you think, devoting yourself to one company and selling your soul to it. I'm a freakin performance fanboy. I go with what will give me the best performance. And I have decency enough to not f*ck people over by giving the the wrong f*cking information thats going to make them waste their hard-earned money, not that you'd know anything about that.

You think I'm the only one rooting for Intel? You go face-to-face with Anand of Anandtech and Kyle Bennet of [H]ardOCP and tell them that the Athlon 64 is going to beat the Core 2 Duos. They're going to freakin 13itchslap you in the face. You're outmatched kid, go back and play with your little toys. There's no room for fanboyish bullsh!t like yours in the real world. When something dominates like Conroe does, there's little room for fanboys. That becomes even more important when there's Thousands of dollars worth of money that we're working with. I'm not going to f*ck someone over and not get them the best thing that they can for their money just because I wanted AMD to win or I wanted Intel to win. I'm going to give them the godd*mn facts straight up and tell them the truth.

I'll love to see the look on your face when in 5 days, Intel's Conroe comes out and rapes every Athlon 64 system out there. I have dozens of benchmarks on my side. What do you have? Not even a prayer kid. Not even a prayer.

Really? Let me say that even Intel's E6400, the second-weakest Conroe, beats Intel's FX-62 in games. You say AMD is for games? Well lets check out some benchmarks, shall we? You wanted to compare the flagship processors, so lets do that.

      Linky.

The benchmarks are run with a Dual X1900XT Crossfire system. The score in red shows which processor was the better one. But...*gasp*...would you look at that! ALL of the X6800's scores are in red. Well whadayaknow. The Core 2 Duo beats the FX-62, BADLY, in every single benchmark. Hmm...you're full of bullsh!t, my friend.

To be fair to these poor guys you're demolishing Flanker, Conroe isn't out yet.

Don't worry, I'm calm and friendly again.

Yea, *technically* its not "out" yet. Even with the release chips floating around. They could've been excused if they had stuck with the current Intel processors. Instead, they specifically focused on Conroe. They were asking for it.

Oh boy, how I can't wait for the next 5 days to be over. All this BS goes out with the "official" release.

            Re: AMD vs. Intel

woah flanker, relax man. jus becos i seen other benchmarks and u seen another benchmark doesnt mean much. your link shows benchmarks with 3DMark scores and games only, good for showing gfx card performance but not cpu performance.

what i have seen are SYSMark 2004, SPECCPU 2000 v1.2, Lightwave 3D 7.5, FutureMark PCMark06, Sandra, Suiper pi, video encoding, Cinebench 2003, XMpeg 4.5 scores overclockability, windows applications, temperature and value.
i think they are jus as significant scores if not better for gauging cpu performance. and every site will have some different reviews and scores. its really very controversial. i simply stated what i saw. there's no need to flame others here, its not very polite in a public forums. if i offended u in any way, let me apologise to u first ok?

              Re: AMD vs. Intel

              I apologize as well.

You said that the AMD was for games and that if you compared the two processors side by side, the FX62 would win. Clearly, thats not the case.

              But lets check out system benchmarks;
              Link.

The X6800 wins 25/31 benchmarks while the FX-62 only wins 4/31 benchmarks. There can't be, "you've seen different benchmarks." If a processor is better, it has to be better in all benchmarks of that type.

There are more gaming benchmarks below for you to gawk at.

well, ok, conroe performs better this time round. my mistake. im not a fan of either amd or intel actually, jus simply bf2. i think the performance crown will always continue to be thrown around both of them jus like it has done with ATI and Nvidia. this thread might jus go on forever.
and gosh, that web link u gave, the only readable thing was the numbers, its got alot of chinese in there i think, doesnt show up on my browser correctly.

                    Re: AMD vs. Intel

The only thing you NEED to read are the numbers, nothing else really matters. Yea, it's in chinese, HKEPC being one of the better hardware websites out there.

I'm not a fan of Intel or AMD either. Only of performance. I just proved to you that the Conroe is better than any Athlon 64, which is why I back up the Conroe. If AMD brings out something better, hooray for them, I'll support that too.

But AMD isn't bringing anything anytime soon. K8L in mid-'07 can only hope to tie with Core 2 Duo in performance, at best. By that time, we can start waiting for Intel's next line of processors, Hah.

                                Re: AMD vs. Intel

They are both good processors, personally I prefer the AMD. The processors you are trying to compare are not even out yet, so what good does this do for someone trying to build a rig right now. Second, Intel has been very far behind in there processors up until this point. The problem that plagues Intel chips is not the performance, its that they build to much heat compared to a AMD. Not to mention the fact that they run at a lot faster clock speed. The packet delivery system on a AMD chip is more efficient then that of an Intel. This is why AMDs performed so well over Intels in the past. Add on to this that Intel had to use 533 DDR2 Ram to match or try to match, the performance of the AMD running 400 DDR Ram. Please lets not go back to RAMBUS. Biggest flop Intel ever did. I understand the investment they had in it, but it flopped big time.

At this point in time, processor speed doesn't mean jack, as we are still limited to the FSB of the chip. The CPU is not being taxed during a game, the GPU and the RAM are doing on the real work. So until AMD completes there board that doesn’t require a FSB, don't worry about it. The other reason AMD has been so popular is price range, they have always come in below the cost of the Intels and gave a better "performance for the buck". So next time don't get all heated and start calling people names. I am not sure of the age, but you where surely acting 12 in those early posts.

I have run both AMD and Intel chips, I prefer AMD at this time. I am still running a standard 64 chip right now. I have been waiting to see what was coming out and do some comparisons on chips that are out and not just a prototype. To compare #'s is stupid anyway. The cost of the new duo may be quite a bit more then the AMD, there for this needs to be taken into account in the performance. Is it worth the extra $$$$ to gain that little bit of performance gain that you will never really see?? This $$$ value can run into several hundred $$$, so does that make economical sense? These are all things you must think about when someone is trying to decide which one is best for them. Not just spouting out that so and so is better. There will never be a #1 for long period of time, but don’t you find it amusing that Microsoft sold off stock in Intel to buy stock in AMD?? Just some things to think about next time before you blow up on someone because they don’t share your view.

                                Jason
