Memory?

Hello everyone, as you may have read in my other thread, I've just bought a new computer, and it came with a crappy video card. I can turn up BF2 to some better settings than with my ATI Radeon 9200 but it's still not that great. It lags when I go to the higher settings.

It may sound like an elementary question, but would getting more memory fix the lag? Should I just go for a better card? Or is it a combination of both? I have 1 gig of RAM now. Thanks.

More RAM in general is always a good thing, it may fix the lag, but it may not. What kind of lag is it? (As in what do you experience?)

well depending on your budget youcould get another gig, which would always help, something i also need to do lol, but then again a new video card may also help a LOT, and you can find a good one for about $150, such as the EVGA 7600GT http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814130283

Right now I have the NVidia 6100 Integrated Graphics, and 2x512 of PC(?)3200 RAM.

I will have to post later, it's hard to describe. It's not really the "slideshow" lag you get from high ping (I usually get around 19 ping on most servers) but more like every 15 seconds or so, it just stops for a moment or jerks my gun somewhere. It's especially dissappointing because this happens when I turn dynamic lighting on and fire a gun. This means I will lose most firefights if I turn that on. Another thing is that it can sometimes just move a bit slower, but no real noticable changes unless I fire, at which time it can revert to the previous type. I'm not sure how else to describe it.

Go with another gig and eww...Integrated GFX? Get another Gig and a new GFX card...You have a PCIe or AGP slot? Probably PCIe if its a new computer
