Memory Clock Probs.

I just got this card, http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814130283, and the memory clock says 1500mhz on the box, but the computer syas it is only running at 750mhz, does any one know why this is. I have the current 91.** driver and my specs are below in my comment. Please Help

Just multiply it by 2 (bug in the drivers, or how the cards bios was set to report it), it is DDR after all. I guarantee if you try and set it to 1500 (with Rivatuner or Coolbits), the system will either lock up or the card will fry.

It is because your card (and many others) have actually got two memory banks, so they are sold as one with double the frequency, there is not a problem with your card.

Could the figure you are getting be related to the PCI-E ports speed capabilities on your motherboard?

Doubt it, but check in your bios that your mobo is running at pci-e 16x

DDR means Double Data Rate. That means the frequency is double the number you see so 750 x 2 = 1500mhz. There is nothing wrong.

ok thx and it is running at pci-E 4X but thats the board problem that i was all ready aware of

cards dont quite run at pci-e 4x bro... that 4x jus means its got 4 lanes to transfer data to and from the mobo. and that can run in either 8x or 16x mode. with 1 card, it definitely running in 16x (all 16 lanes). what were u looking at when u said 4x? sure u looking at the right thing?
