    SLI Questons...

    1) How does this work?
    --------------------------
    2) Does it need to be the same card?
    --------------------------
    3) Is it worth the extra $xxx?

    1. 1 card is for one half the screen and the other for the other half of the screen. so its double the fps.
    2. yeh it needs to be the same card!!!
    3. And it is not worth it unless u have like a 24" monitor or over. even if u do have tht its not worth it for bf2. id rather get a 7800gt to a 7900gt card.

          1. This means that you must have 2 of the same vid. cards
SLI lines the 2 cards up in a setup, by doing this your performance is MUCH, MUCH more!

          2. See #1, yes U do, otherwise no SLI device is possible

          3. IMO, I have it about 2 months, and damn, my pc is running BF2 as smoothly as possible

I've got a buddy using SLI to push a 24" Dell LCD at full high quality in game. I wouldn't spend that kind of money just to game though. He did it for his business ( or so he says) and happens to reap the benefit of it for his gaming.

yes it matters. My own personal choice is

Make sure you buy the card that your motherboard can support. AGP or PCI express. Also, make sure you adjust your BIOS for the larger RAM the card has on it. This is a different process for every motherboard so no easy way to walk you through that one.

Depends on the game you play.

SLi shows benefits from gaming at high resolutions (1600x1200 and up).

the best amount of increase your going to see if you game at 1280*1024 is about 30%-40% increase in FPS. Once you get into the higher resolutions, you'll start seeing the benefits of it.

Nvidia said it does NOT have to be the same card, AS LONG AS THE BIOS VERSIONS ARE THE SAME.

It's worth it if you have the money to spend, or play games at really high resolutions.
