Spyware!!

I was working on someone’s laptop because it kept re-booting, and at first I thought it was a hardware problem until I booted in Safe Mode.

Then I was able to run Registry Cleaner 4.0 that was already installed. Then I found there was Yahoo Anti-Spy ware program. I ran it and a Command Prompt window came up telling me there was a pest deep in the OS then to run a batch file it put in the C:/ directory.

I ran it then restarted like it told me, and ran the same program and got the same message.

What is a good program that will hopefully fix this problem?

Download Spybot, Adaware these are for free also install 90 day trial version of microsoft one care onto that laptop. Im assuming you are seeing XP on it. All of these hunt for spyware.

That should help slow it down or kill it. Yahoo's spyware program is ok but not that great.

Might have to, but try other programs first.

Well I am going to have to try all those programs because she has no disks at all that came with the laptop.

Install the Recovery Console and clear out the vermin from there.

Get registry mechanic, check for problems in that, it has a free trial, or you can just get a crack and be naughty also, Panda antivirus, it lasts for ever, its free and it works bloody good, its a firewall, antivirus and spryware remover all in 1.

but if its really deep, its best to format

Hey!

Try Spybot, or Registery Mechanic, when my pc went up the creak, this little tools help LOADS to clean out the dirt virus's, they basically started eating my virtual memory some how!

I have this program called SpySweeper, gotta pay for it (only like 20 bucks), and its found everything that has ever got onto my computer. Its gotten rid of them too.

Avast worked

It does a scan right after OS loads, and removes all infected files.
