Medusa 5.1 Headphones + X-fi Xtreme music settings

plz if you have the items in the thread title could you share your settings with me.
I ask because i'm not 100% sure that i'm getting the best out of them.
do i enable 5.1 speakers or headphones,cmss on or off,bass redirection etc etc

basically any tips or hints would be greatly appreciated

I have the LTB 5.1 headphones which are very similar.

This is what I do:

-enable 5.1 speakers
-CMSS OFF
-Bass Redirection ON (you will have to play with this a bit to get it right)
-Bass boost OFF
-all other settings to taste (I leave the 24-bit crystallizer on)

It samples the stereo channels, pulls out anything under a user preset freq. (I recommend 70 or 80 Hz), and diverts it to the sub channel. This is very useful in games because 99% of multi-channel games are mixed only in 5.0 sound, not 5.1.

Speakers to 5.1
Game mode
Enable CMSS 65%
24 bit Crystalizer 65%
EQ Dance customized
Bass redirection on
Crossover 160Hz
Bass boost on

oh thats really cool, is there any performance loss with using the bass redirection? Also does the redirection work well with music?

It can be tricky because some PC speakers systems, and music software packages for that matter, attempt to seperate out the sub channel also. You'll have to play with it to get your best results for music playback.

These settings don't really effect processor functions. The processor crunchers are CMSS, Crystalizer and to a lessor extent EQ... basically anything that's acting as a DSP or signal manipulator.

oh i see, well I never use cmss cause it sounds like crap so i dont have to worry about that performance hit.

HERE is what the folks at Medusa say about XFI settings.

Anyone using them having THIS problem? Huge discussion at Tom's Hardware about no bass from certain directions.
