i recently built my own system and i bought a cheap case and a not very good motherboard and i want to upgrade these what can i get for £300?

also does a 939 motherboard support ddr2 or is that just am2

also i should mention im getting a x1900xt so maybe a crossfire mobo

well, s939 DOES not support ddr2.

ONLY get a crossfire mobo if you plan on going crossfire, are you going to go crossfire (i can mention good ones either way)?

yes i think i might go crossfire as i am going to get new monitor with either 1600x1200 or 1900x1200

Bad bad bad!! Don't ever post another xpress200 chipset based mobo in here again. Those things are so bad, I wouldn't want my worst enemy to have one. For a crossfire board only get one that uses the 3200 chipset. Even then, be careful, wreck is on his third (or fourth?) of those.

yeah, I know they are pretty bad, I just posted it for perspective, i was gonna type "even though the 3200 is higher priced I would def. get it because its so much better and the 200 has HUGE issues" but i forgot lol.

Buggy, prone to spontaneous crashing, locking up, beyond horrible usb performance, crossfire implementation is bad, etc...


Edit: And you don't need to post links to those boards, if he actually buys one now you can be the one to help him out.

ok i am just going to stick with what i got and put that money towards my new rig which is going to be dx10,vista,conroe/new amd processor :)

Don't be too quick to judge, the A8R-MVP has the ULI southbridge, it's a very capable CF board.

I know this is off topic, but dannyboy, how many threads are you going to start named "plz help me", or "i need help plz". You already have 5 with basicly that title. It really helps us out when you use more descript titles.

Yep, I sent the fourth one back for a refund. No more ATI chipsets for me.
