Not sure what changes you made, but I just got a FPS increase of almost 12 from the original, and my 6600GT is running at stock speed (500/1000). Actually the number from the second result is pretty close to a bench reading I took with FRAPS a while ago on a lightly populated Dalian server ago (sorry don't have the results for that one anymore, but it was around 52 avg).

I think that it counts the FPS during the loading, so until that changes, these numbers probably don't mean much. FRAPS was reporting that the fps was getting up to 470 during the loading/"Join Game" screen, and that can really screw up the results.

for me it reports 1 fps during loading, so that would tank my FPS, even thought I know what it says isn't the truth.

Same here. That and I didn't start the FRAPS bench until after I was in the server.

when i run it it just uses the settings which i currently use ingame? if it just uses the settings which you want to use then how can you compare results?

Its not meant to do that, its meant to use its own settings.

The TimeDemo report generated by BF2 is useless. Look at the .csv file that is also generated and you'll see that it actually starts fps counting when the exe starts, not when the demo itself starts (ie. you press the Start/Join button). Therefore, the longer you wait to start the actual demo, the higher your average fps will be in final the timedemo report.
