And how does the cooling ability of DIce compare to the cooling capability of LN2? -
Guest repliedRe: This is Insane
DICE is like half the cost, and MUCH more widely avaliable. And, ofcourse, it comes in cubic-something, not liters. Or was it Kg...I forget. =/
Yea, a liter of LN2 doesn't last too long, which is why I said $20 = 10 Liters. That should last you for the majority of the day. Remember that it's supposed to be for the highest possible overclocks -- Don't expect to be running SuperPi 32M or 24-hour Prime95 on LN2.
DICE lasts much longer than LN2, and I personally like it more than LN2. It's also much easier to store than LN2. Dice, you can just leave laying around (don't step on that area afterwards, though). LN2 has to be kept in containers, I forget their name.Leave a comment:

Lol, i was afraid you would say that, well there goes my chance at crazy OCing, anyways, how much does DIce cost? Also, i heard OCZ was making a real cheap phase change, is it out yet?Originally posted by WreckNot very long before it evaporates. Its like $2/Liter or something, usually. Not gallons, because the people that sell them are usually scientific, so they deal in metrics. :)Leave a comment:

Yeh lol.Originally posted by FlankerIt was on LN2.
You won't be getting anywhere near that with a normal Conroe processor. You could maybe do it at home if you got LN2, a heatsink, and all that good stuff, but obviously that can't be sustained. Basically, don't expect to be getting a sub-10s SuperPi 1M time anytime soon. I'm still going to be satisfied with my 3.5Ghz E6600 getting sub-15s SuperPi times.
That said, that SuperPi time is sexy.Leave a comment:

Prob using at least a phase change, most likely Dice (dry ice) or LN2 (liquid nitrogen).Originally posted by sackynutoh, haha i was looking at the CPU ID, and it said Core 2 2.93ghz. I guess it IS 5ghz. wow nvm. ANYTHING oced to 5ghz will own super pi. all it proves is that conroe is SUPER good for OCing!! which is always a plus. i wonder what the conroe at stock 2.93 gets....Leave a comment:
