I'm saying, DDR2 memory is expensive, DDR ballistix is awesome (DDR2 ballistix is awesome too, but the value factor ain't that great, it costs like 150 for 1 gb).

if u had the money, i would tell u to get this ram from corsair. DDR2 800, 3-4-3-9, with EPP.

EPP is automatic overclocking, right? ANyways, i would rather overclock by myself.

EDIT: Notice that it says standard JDEC timings are still 5-5-5-15, but it can get 3-4-3-9 when overvolted and using EPP to automatically lower the timings, but at 3-4-3-9, you won't be able to overclock far.

You wouldn't need to with those timings.

True hehe, anyways, what's the possibiliity that if you added voltage to performance ram, that you could get the same timings (w/o overclocking CPU?)

Voltage may get you tighter timings, but usually only a higher overclock. Some IC"s actually don't respond well to higher voltage like Infineon and TCCC.

What do manufaturers use for DDR2 mem anyways? Do they also use TCCD and Infineon chips, or others?

The best ones released so far are the Micron D9 Fatbodys. Infineon, samsung, and Micron etc all make IC's for DDR2. I haven't really been keeping up on it since I don't plan on upgrading right now.

Ah, yes, micron chips, that's what Crucial uses for their Ballistix (well, at least in DDR).

Do you mean 258mhz, or 285, cuz your saying 258, but your sig is saying 285.

He's running 285mhz HTT with a 180/360 divider on the ram.
