Well I just ordered a nice new computer with a 939 athlon 64 and a 939 mobo. Only to go looking around on forums, after i ordered all the parts from newegg, to realize AM2 is out!
Well am I totaly screwed by getting 939 and not AM2?
Is the Logitech MX518 the only piece of hardware you own?

anyways, prices are gonna drop soon so you got jipped there. for gaming its alright, dont worry its a small performance loss over AM2 but you arent super screwed.
as for Conroe, they cost less and are HUGE performance, but supposedly you cant get a hold of one for a while, and unless you play FEAR all day or render DVD's.... its okay. but returning it to newegg (which you can do) and getting AM2 parts might be a good idea.

Thats bullsh!t. Read this thread. Even with only 25% of Intel's shipments being Conroes, because of Intel's manufacturing and shipping capacities, the number of Conroes is going to be MORE than ALL Athlon 64 processors shipped by AMD. Avaliability will not be a problem.

3500+ Venice, you mean? They don't make a 1MB L2 cache 3500+ (unless its called a 3700+).
That would, indeed, be cheaper than a Conroe at $113. But thats also a single core processor. The cheapest Conroe (they're all dual cores), being priced at $183, outperforms the X2 4800+. So its basically two Athlon 64 4000+ processors for 60% more money than one Athlon 64 3500+.
