  • Looking to build a new PC

    My dad play BF2 (omg, no wai!) and we were thinking about getting him a PC. Building one of course. I was wondering If I should wait about a month or two till we do because the new CPU's for intel and AMD are coming out and the AM2 will hopefulyl have a better selection of mo'bos to choose from (most of them don't seem all that steady.) I was looking to get things along the lines of this:

    Asus mo'bo
    3800+ AM2
    1gig (I have a 1 gig stick of pc3200 I can use to make it 2 gigs)
    7600gt 256mb

        well, if hes only going to be playin bf2 and hes not a huge gaming/performance freik, I would probably go with whats cheap (not like a 6200, but now AM2 fx-62 lol). s939 would be good still if its much cheaper, but just get him something good, 7600gt type of stuff nothing fancy.

        my suggestion is throw the extra 20 bucks in for ddr2 AM2.

              New PC: I dare someone to recommend him a A64.

              Yes, wait for the Core 2 Duo chips from Intel, they'll be released on July 23rd. No chip that you buy today will be any match for the Core 2 Duos. People say that the A64s will still be very good chips. Well, a Sempron is a good processor, but its nothing compared to an Athlon 64. So how many people are going to go with the Sempron, even if its cheaper? See my point? You get what you pay for.

                  Re: Looking to build a new PC

                  Actually, a more truthful statement would be;

                  Screw AMD for gaming!

                  This is just further proof that Post Count =! Experience. Just shows how much time you wish to take out of having a real life to talk to people on the internet that you will never see.

                              yes the conroe will game better than some AMD chips now, but how long before you can get a hold of the one you want is the question???

                              plus, intel always screws up their chipsets and crap... im not saying the CPU wont rock for gaming, but they sometimes even out,
