ok, so would a raptor sata 10,000 rpm drive be faster than a raid 0 7,200 sata drive?

if it has bigger cache then yes it would.
if the raid 0 drives have the same amount of cache of the raptor thenno it would not. -

Well before I got my raptor I had 2 SATA 7200rpm drives in RAID0. The diffrence was night and day the raptor has been much faster.Comment

Really depends on what you're doing. In load times for instance the raptor would be better, but for transferring large amounts of data to and from the drive the Raid is better.Originally posted by bigpappacool thanks, that was the answer i was looking for,

Unless you like moving your Vista instal zip file around for fun.. if you (like me) move it and sit there watching the transfer, i suggest getting the RAID. the Raptor will be faster in BF2, not that anyone plays that here...... :)Comment

have you tried putting two raptors in a RAID0? I had mine like that originally and I had a ton of problems. kept crashing and getting corrupt files. finally I just re did everything and used one as my system drive and the other for games.
