    This is just too funny.

Stuff like this doesn't happen very often, but when it does, it deserves some publicity.

That reminds me of the guy on Tech-Forums.net (My home forums) that cut off his PCI-E 7800GTX to make it fit into a AGP slot.

Don't blame me for making fun of it. Its a 13 year old kid who screwed up one of the nicest processors on the market. He should expect some of this.

I don't get whats funny. Someone just broke an expensive CPU... why is this funny?

      *sigh*

Yes, that is sad. But once you get past that -- How hard is it to line up the triangle on the processor with the triangle on the socket? The drama that ensues after the fact is the funny part.

You guys have no sense of Dark Humor.

I feel for the guy and I've tried to help him, lol. But I still reserve the right to find it amusing, no?

Yea, now that I look back on it, making a thread about it wasn't such a hot idea. Oh well, feel free to lock and throw away the key since there's really no point to this if no one finds it funny.

I thought it was funny because it has happened to people I know. You have to be kind of careless in order to bend pins. My prefered method of repairing the pins?

Mechanical pencil with a metal tip, remove the lead and slide it over the pin. SLOWLY with EXTREME CAUTION bend the pin back.

Yea, but he broke one of them off, lol. He's going to try to find a jeweler with a laser that can weld the pin back on.

Maybe you should replace the link with one to the thread where a guy cut off part of the AGP tab on his GFX card so it would fit into a PCI-e slot.

                    That one is hilirious.

                      Good idea.

                      Clicky.

This is the ORIGINAL thread, folks. :) I was there when it happened, but didn't know enough at the time to post anything helpful. But that was a fake. You find out at the end about a guy that broke ALL the pins on his FX-55.

That thread made Tech-Forums pretty popular, though.

Odds are the pin he broke was a ground pin, he should try and boot the comp up before he freaks out. Alot of the pins are redundant and serve no purpose because the socket was overengineered with extra unused pins.

I'd feel bad for the kid if he wasnt such a little **** (telling people they deserve bans), and if he knew how to construct a legible sentence.
