You can press escape to enter games... ooo000oo.. well dont i just seem like a retard now.. lol.

Same, all that time i could avoided most of my join game CTDs with just pressing a button to enter the game instead of clicking one lol.

The clue is where it says:
"Press escape key or Join Game to enter the server"
or whatever the hell it is.

I dont know how many ****ing threads I have posted this in, but if you press the escape key instead of the join game button it wont crash.

i tried restarting my pc whenever i ctd. seems to work, temporarily....

Mm.. to me it seemed perminant. tried to join many many times.. and every time it was a ctd. Im almost thinking is going back to 1.22, im just weighing up the issues with that to the new ones... lol.

Maybe in your case you might wanna re-install, btw, the full install has less CTDs than teh incremental, so if you do a whole new re install of BF2, and do full install, you might see less CTD.
