BF2 on Vista!!!

Hey guys,

Just looking to share, Anyone eles running Mircrosoft Vista?

I installed it on the weekend and had zero issues picked up everything but my Card reader on my printer but installed igt manually!

well, the game works great in Vista! I am running the Vista 64 bit and zero issues!

Thats the beta version right? Cause if Microsoft released Vista, I would have known about it. My dads a computer technician.

Off topic: Rico, you are the rico that used to be one of TBF2 forums admins, right? If so, what the heck happened to your post count lol, so sad to see the former 'greatest admin' now a reg member with many less posts, what happened during the 5 months i was away?

i was going to try bf2 on vista 64 aswell but creative drivers arent very reliable :S

btw, when u run the game does aero shutdown to free system resources?

It's about the same, if you have a decent pc that is. I run a P4 3GHz/Radeon 9800 and 1GB RAM and it was just fine, but on my father's laptop, a 1,5 GHz Pentium M it really ran like crap, although the rig is far from outdated.

I guess you'll have to install it to find out:p

I really liked vista, I think it's a very nice improvement security-wise, had to uninstall it though to make way for linux, I just can't have two windows OS on the same machine

It's a beta for a reason, at this point it runs BF2 like crap, the audio drivers for creative suck and just playing solitaire on Vista makes the sound get disabled, BF2 is very laggy. This could all be Creative's fault of course.

Thats right. I moved onto other things (real life career change) and the other admin who i worked with sold the site (got greedy). Not sure what happened to my post count.

As for Vista, I'll wait till its necessary before upgrading me thinks.

my problem with creative is the most stupid ever... i download the drivers from their site for the audigy 2 value, for windows vista beta 2 64bit, BUT it wont install .......

as simple as that, those guys have drivers that just dont work hahaha

They deleted a bunch of old threads, so they were probably ones that you had posted in. It happened to a lot of people.

Other admin (COUGH COUGH Gamewizard COUGH COUGH), anyways, i know, you went on to work at EA or something. Dang, i remember when i just joined, you already had around 2000 posts, i looked up to you so much as the admin, then you took a LONG leave from TBF2 cuz you got a job at EA or somethin and you had computer problems, then you came back, but not as active, and now this... Man, i can't believe they took away your admin status, they shoulda at least made ya a super mod, and same with DP, now hes a reg member, but somehow Talus and Wargimp got super mod even though they joined kinda late...

EDIT: Yea, that's why they took away your posts, they deleted like 30,000 threads in total, lucky i didn't post too much back then.

Ive got it installed, I set up most of my drivers. Im not going to waste my time with it until creative releases some X-fi drivers. I cant get sound, so Im not going to waste my time with something im never going to use.
