Does your sound card cause lag?

I'm not talking about internet lag but just general game lag, would having a crap sound card make the game lag if you've got sound quality on high?

Yes, you have to run on software low if you have anything lower than an audigy 2 zs.

well, yes. if your sound card cant run on high, it dumps the load to the software and the game will lag like crazy. best to get a gd card to put on high. prob audigy or x-fi.

I run an Audigy 1, audio at medium without any problems at all...

put it to medium, there is ahrdly n e difference between high & medium.

If you are running in software mode, it doesnt make any difference what your sound card is.

Hardware mode on my soundcard makes the sound all scratchy and funky.
