    Does my pc support BF2?

Hi, I´m not new on this forum but a don´t often post. I been surfing for this problem but i didnt find the solution.

    I have BF2 and BF2 Special Forces and I have a problem.

While in the server and in no special moment my pc just freezes and the sound keep looping.... I´m not able to ctrl+alt+del or anything... I have no other option but to restart. This problem is not always present, I could play for like 5 hours and not freezing... the next day the problem could start in minutes of playing online.

    My pc:
    Asus a-7v8x-x
    AMD Semprom +2600
    1 Gb RAM
    Western Digital 120Gb
    FX 5700LE 256MB
    Sound Blaster Live! 7.1

If anyone have any idea of were my problem is... please im desperate

    Bye,

    Escorpiano

P.S.: And please forgive my english.... I know its terrible.... and if you think this is bad.... you should hear me talking!

Go up into the drop down menu in the right corner and find the game you are looking for...

It should but not very well..probably it will run on low with decent FPS

I'm pretty sure it will, i ran BF2 with a 2.8ghz P4 and a ATI Radeon 9200, so your 2600+FX5700 should be able to run.

          I get this results...

Could it be my video card? it may be damage or over heated...

Thanks for the replies, and stephensolfo... great avatar my friend.

If my 5700Le is causing this freeze I could change it for a GForce ND6600 TD 256mb or Ati 9800se 256mb (wich one is better?).

          Bye.

its not the video card, it may be the CPU, or a driver problem (i think).
i used to have that same video card with128mb memory and it worked fine.

Re: Does my pc support BF2?

well, i think it jus runs a benchmark to see if your pc will run bf2 satisfactorily. but it version of satisfactory is a little higher than your version.
ie. your 5700 will run bf2, but very slowly. if u really want to upgrade which u should if u really want to play bf2, get the 6600, has DX9 and SM3 enabled compared to the SM2 Ati 9800.

Re: Does my pc support BF2?

IMO it is most likely a driver problem or something overheating.

Re: Does my pc support BF2?

hmm, perhaps it is overheating. u tried feeling your pc, is it hot? which part is the hottest? maybe ram error. or a faulty graphics card. does this happen on other games or even during normal startup?

Venny, thanks. I would change my 5700 for the 6600.

Yes TokenBrit... it must be "partly" (a put it right?) a problem of overheating, in my countrie (Argentina) we have a really hot summer this time... my pc temp sensors jump to almost 60Cº on mi video card and via Asus Probe my cpu jump to 65Cº.
Now, winter, is video 33Cº and cpu 48Cº.

The video drivers are updated, I check every 2 days..... Im very jumpy right now jejejej.

And yes Venny.... it could be also a faulty graphics card, this have 1 year guarranty and guess what?.... today is exactly 1 year and 6 months.
The Need For Speed Most Wanted (Black Label) DVD runs like a charm with super high quality. Doom 3 works smooth, Unreal awakewning works fine.
Call of Duty, Call of Duty United Offensive works fast on single player and on mp. Call of Duty 2 works fine.... but it freezes from time to time like it does with BF2.
I play other games that dont have problem at all... Sniper Elite, Cold Fear, Beach Life, SimCity Rush Hour, Boiling Point, Return to castle Wolfestein, Enemy Territory.

I test the memorys (2 of 512mb) and it seems to me that the problem is not there.... but I am no pro on this things

Thank you this post are helping me.

                    Bye.
