Pc wont boot...

Hey guys, i think i got my boot files corrupted and i need to know how to repair them, i know i did it before in the recovery console , i typed in chkdsk with some other command and i remember it worked... but i cant remember the exact command...

Anyway i forgot to mention, that when im loading xp the bar goes accross 2-3 times then locks up..

bootcfg /rebuild to repair it

THanks, but now icant get my pc to boot the windows disk...

you will need to go into the bios and set the boot order to see the cdrom/dvdrom first..

Go into your bios and find the boot priority section. Then make CD Rom first and Hard disk second. When you reboot it will ask you to press any key to boot from CD.
