Not really, plus everyone else in here is going to call you a complete retard if you don't wait until next week and then buy an am2 setup. It's not that hard, just get a new cpu, mobo, ram and thats it. Nothing else needs to change.

The am2 parts cost the same or less than their 939 counterparts. Don't configure a machine until next week, thats when the prices will really drop.

They came out a month or two ago, but once intel launches conroe amd is really gonna drop the prices on their products. I don't know when the drop is gonna happen, but I think lil_jimmy, wreck, or twsmit do.

Late july, 30-50% off on most AMD A64 processors. And what do you mean by this?: BTW: READ THE TOPIC TITLE... WHAT WAS I ASKING?.... WHAT DID YOU TELL ME?

Are you refferring to me, and if so, about which comment?

You only have to wait a month for Conroe... or severely lowered prices on AMD's processors. Either way, you could save a good amount of money or get a better performing CPU that will last you longer if you just wait a month. Conroe is expected to come out July 23rd, and the AMD price drops are expected to happen the day after.

Whats the differnce between what I have now and what I would get in a month (if I get the new mobo/cpu/ram)..

                    faster speed?
                    better multi-tasking?
                    better graphics?

= what exactly does it do that would make it worth waiting a month for

Yes, yes, no, the graphics are going to be the same. You will save a crapload of money (at least 30% on the proc alone).

How about the RAM and Mobo?

Do you have some links for some of the good models that in a month will drop down to my range?:)

The mobo costs will be the same as the 939 mobo you have now. The ram might slightly more expensive, but the cheap proc will offset that. It'll also be faster.

                          Here's the mobo:

I'm sure the extra time will help you save a little more money.

Hmm... faster ram + proccesor = quicker Bf2 map switching time, right?

If I actualy got in the planes.. o wow:evil:

You could say that, I'd get the same proc and oc a little anyway.

                              For the ram:

The only issue is you'll have to manually set the vdimm voltage, but it's not that hard. OF course, I'm hoping wreck or jimmy will have a better ram choice.

You will have the latest technology. Also it will be faster, cheaper, and more upgradable in the future.
