Razer DiamondbacK Problem

Hey all.

I just bought this mouse and installed it and hit up BF2. But now my game freezes and i have to reboot after about 20 minutes everytime. Never had this prob b4 and just wondering if any1 else out there has had this problem. So if you have, please please drop a reply here so i can enjoy this great game once again.

Install optical mouse drivers? Only thing I can think of

Ok mate, you need to uninstall those razer drivers and get the newest ones from the razerzone.com website. Did you install the ones form the CD?

I previously owned a Diamondback, and was very happy with it no problems in BF2. I recently upgraded to a Copperhead, and am even more satisfied.

Don't listen to those Logitech fetishists. They're just jaleous :p

I have the same mouse... DONT TRY TO INSTAL THE DRIVER-CD!! use the driver windows installs automaticly...

I would recommend going to their site and download the newest driver. You can adjust sensitivity on the fly with the thumb key, and program the keys. The default windows drivers work, but are overly sensitive, and have no advanced features.
But you're definately right about not installing the drivers from the CD - those are totally outdated

K i did install the ones from the CD first but i uninstalled them and got the ones from the website. But i still got the same problem. I even reinstalled BF2. Thinkin about reformatting.

Get a PS2 mouse, and check if it is the mouse that causes this.

No do not reformat. Your mouse issues have nothing to do with this and the problem will not be solved by reinstalling the OS.
You might have gotten a damaged mouse.
Do you have the possibility to test it on another computer? Just to see it it works fine on another PC you should install the drivers there, and check if it works with BF2.

You did delete the razer folder after uninstallation of the razer software right?
Might have to bring the mouse back to where you bought it, and get a replacement.

Also, SnowControl gave a smart advice. Try with a normal PS2 mouse and see if it works if you don't use USB.
To me it looks like it could be some trouble with your USB root hub. Check if you get the same problems if you shut down the PC, plug in the Razer into a different USB plug, and reboot. Then install the drivers.

Hope you get it working m8. It is a great mouse, and I'm sorry that you're currently having such issues with it.

would you mind listing what motherboard, and other hardware you are using?
Could also be outdated chipset drivers on the MB etc.

Ah well, could be many things. Fun stuff to troubleshoot
