Monitor got the shakes

Hi guys,

My monitor gets a shaky display and sometimes goes dark with colored squigglies across it. Also the display goes crumpled at the top sometimes. When it is turned off then on again the problem goes away. This is mostly on the desktop and not during games. The monitor is about 5 years old and the video card is a few months old. Is this the monitor or the video card dying???

1 gig ram

It's dying...the monitor.

Classic symptom of pre-death of a CRT. Don't throw it away or shoot it though...as it WILL still work for some time as a back-up when your new monitor is acting up.

Time for a new monitor.. thanks glad to know its not the video card.. hope i can can get one more week out of it..
