    3700+ vs. Opty 146

Ok, please, if you don't know a thing about processors, then don't come here, i'm looking for straight up good advice. Anyways, now is the time, that i come to upgrade a my comp a bit (taking old parts to china to build comp there), anyways, lets see, i'm upgrading memory, GPU and CPU. And right now, i need some advice on CPU. I'm stuck on two CPUs, Opty 146, or the 3700+ sandiego. Now, don't anybody tell me to buy a 3800+, I KNOW it's cheaper (150 vs. 206 bucks) I KNOW it's faster. I also know that it overclocks not as well (venice core, just a factory overclocked 3000+ basically), and that it has half as much L2 Cache as the 3700+. Now all the good people here (experienced guys like Matdef, Flank (if he still here), Wreck etc.) know Opterons overclock like CRAZY. All the good people also know that the 3700+SD is also one of the best OCers. So i just need to know what i should buy, they're only 17 bucks difference, so i could easily by either one.

    Opterons most definetly.

The San Diego core is rather overclockable, yet IMO the Opty 146 beats it in these circumstances... Good luck :)

I always say dual core, but between those two definately go for the opty.

Hi matdef, i'm back (just outta curiosity, do you stil remember me?), Anyways i don't got enough $$$ for dual core (or i would be buyin the opty 165), so these are the two best, ok, so far, i'm leaning towards the opty.

THe 3700+ is also a very competant overclocker, and it's faster at stock.

I have my opty 146 sitting at 2.73Ghz on the stock cooling without any bump in vcore.

                Any more replies?

EDIT: Also, would getting a Opty 144 instead of these two be a better value, or should i just go with one of these two?

BUMP, i'm buying today or tomorrow, need more replies, fast.
