What video card should I get

I need a pci express video card so I can play bf 2 on my new computer

What is a good card to get for this game?
I dont have a lot of money to spend so I figure a middle of the road one is ok
What cards should I avoid?
Where should I purchase it from?

eVGA 7600GT... best bang for the buck, if you can manage the 7900GT. But the 7600 is great.

Thanks for the replies, but with three different people I get three different answers!
I dont want to spend more than 150, and I would like to spend around $100

I dont need to play the game on maximum specs, but I would like it to be reliable and easy to install

I recomend the previous card over this, but if you need to save money, this is a good choice. good if you prefer nvidia.

the above are fine, old tech, but cheaper and still run games well. You will have most med/high on them.

Middle of the road cards to get you medium for under 150...

or
NVIDIA 6600 or 6600GT

i run all high on my 6600GT :), except AA, and AF, thats on medium
without tweaks

What resoloution? 1024x768? 800x600?? I would say the 6600 is the absolute lowest... the x1600 and the 7600 are on par.. the 6800 is good.

Get the 6800GS if you can. It is a great card and right around the price you wanted last time I checked newegg.com

7600GT or GS. Don't buy anything with "passive" cooling. Great for everything

Especially because of the $35 mail in rebate

I do have one more question though, I have a HP Media Center PC, which I can plug into the cable television to and watch and record TV on my computer.
Will this new video card interrupt that ability at all?

Hmmm last time I checked the 7600 was wiping the floor with the x1600, the 7600GT is also better than any six series card. If you want to spend under 100$ I think you can find a cheap vanilla 6600 that will run BF2 great.
