Im 99% sure that this will work, i was tempted to get the FX 55 but i thought in the long run the Dual Core will be better off. Any sugestions?

Not bad. I'd get a hard drive with 16MB Cache though.

Just a peeve of mine, but it's spelled Dual, not dule.

That's also a good PSU, but I would still reccomed getting a better one, especially if you plan on going crossfire.

If you don't plan on going crossfire, then you should aviod that ATI chipset on the MOBO, and get an NF4.

yeah that looks good, you even didnt make the mistake of choosing a nvidia mobo, and an Ati card, or the other way around. but yeah, unless you feel the need to go crossfire get an nvidia chipset, but with a 3200 chipset from Ati, and a x1900xtx, I think you might go CF sometime

I do plan on going crossfire but when DX 10 comes out. Whats the matter with the chipset of i dont go crossfire?

the reason why they said ATI card with Nvidia chipset and vice versa, is because like they said, if you go with an ATI video card Nvidia chipset mobo, you will never be able to go crossfire. Same the other way around. If you go Nvidia video card and ATI chipset mobo, you'll never be able to go SLi. Then, that makes the whole thing pointless when you want to add in the second card, because it won't work.

Because the Nvidia MOBO chipsets are more developed, therefore more stable and will generaly overclock better.

16MB cache drives are faster than 8MB cache drives.

Get the new GeForce 7950. Best card on the market. Save a small fortune because you will only need the one and it will still out do 2 of the others.

Got shown it last night.

I'm sure you don't need a dual processor to play games. I'm of the understanding that the games only use the one processor. OK if you plan on doing other stuff with it but if for games only then one is fine.

Sorry, I'm no expert it's just for an extra $200 you can have the same thing as a crossfire or sli without having to fork out $1800 or more just for cards. I also don't know what budget he's got but would assume that if you are looking to put in dual core processors and dual graphics cards them you don't really have a budget do you. I'm also looking at putting something else together so I can play a better game and was shown this new card last night. My thoughts were a big yes. I'm just sharing my thoughts in the hope they can be of use to others. I also like to read your coments as they are very helpfull and if I'm dribbling a crock of whatever then please tell me so.
Why shouldn't I put one in my next computer?

I didn't mean to be rude at all, so I apologize if it came out like that.

But, first things first, the driver releases are very buggy.

SLI is a waste unless you are running super high resolutions, 1024x768, and 1280x1024 just need a single card. SLI only shows good performance gains at higher resolutions.

Spending that much on a GFX card with DX10 cards coming out soon isn't a good idea.


Those are just a few, I could list more, but I'm going to run to Taco Bell real quick.

Blowing $600 on a s939 cpu is a waste of cash. Go AM2 and atleast have K8L as an upgrade path.

I'm surprised noone has mentioned to wait for Conroe :)
I jst saw this review today that showed the (expected to be) $312 2.4ghz E6600 beating the $600+ 4800 you have there. And they were able to overclock it to 3.1ghz with Intel's stock cooler and no change in voltage. http://www.tbreak.com/reviews/articl...6&pagenumber=4
My suggestion would be to wait for Conroe. Some reports say September, but I really think it's gonna come out July 23rd...
