SATA drives

ok, so i have a question about SATA hard drives.

if i were to use one in my system, would i still be able to use my current IDE based cd/dvd drives, or will i also have to get SATA?

i heard that if you use an SATA hard drive, you cant use an IDE based drive as a slave.

False. My primary is a SATA and my 2ndary is an IDE. Just remember to change your settings in bios before booting up.
