Whats a good monitor for between $100-150???

and on a side note dont want to make another thread but would I need more than a 500W PSU for a Penitum D at 3 GHz w/ a 7600 GT and 2 gigs of RAM

Also...does anyone have experience with teh XFX 7600 GT?

I am not good with monitors but i have had experience with a 7600 GT

Some cards tend to be unstable so you may actually have to UNDERclock the thing

mines at 570/765

Last time I looked, Walmart has a 17inch flatscreen monitor by KDS for about 98.00 (I paid $138 a year earlier for the same model). Its a nice, clear screen and works great. I've since upgraded to a 19in LCD monitor, so now my wife uses this one.

See if you can find a samsung 793MB monitor. BestBuy carries them I believe, very goon minitor. I got mine for $139 a year or so ago.

As for the 7600GT, it's a good card. I personally would go with EVGA, but XFX is fine.

Because spending so little on a cheap-o LCD is taking a big gamble. With LCDs you get what you pay for.

Either spend more on an LCD or buy a CRT. The CRT I mentioned above is great.

Like Jimmy said, spend some more bucks or expect to be disappointed. Sure there are plenty of people who are just fine gaming on a low end LCD, I have heard rave reviews from them both online and offline. However, that is because they are probably not very picky about their visuals, and have low standards, or just plain are lucky and dont notice the ghosting.

I for one went with a near "gaming class LCD" two years ago for my freshman year of college, and while I could game, it was a pretty sad sight, and ghosting was a definite problem. I had a 16ms 15.4" widescreen LCD with 1680x1050 resolution, powered by a Radeon 9600 Pro Turbo 128MB.

I dumped the laptop the first weekback home for summer, and opened up my arms, and embraced my old 19" CRT.

Bottomline, a $150 LCD might be just fine for you, or your worst nightmare.. do you want to risk it?

I suggested a good CRT in post number 5, you should be able to find it for around $100.

There can be some great deals had off Craiglist.com, look there for some used Trinitron monitors. Usually 19"-21" Sony or Dell branded trinitron, flatscreens, arguably some of the best consumer CRTs.

In my area they are usually in the 50-100 range.
