Perhaps thats because BF2 doesnt have any coding in it for physics processors.

It's been out for awhile as said eariler, BFG was the first out with it I believe. It's acutally shown a FPS decrease in most games I've seen it tested with.

Complete, giant waste of money for the reasons the others mentioned!

Also, both ATI and nVidia have announced 3 card solutions to do away with the need for this Physx card...they're doing their own version of it to be 100 times more powerful using mostly current hardware.

at least with the asus version, it says Physx on the plate. On the BFG version, it's blank, so people don't know what's actually there, if it's a blank spot or a physx card........

so has Nvidia, except you have to have SLi. One gets used for physics one gets used for graphics.

There are also rumors of using no SLI, but still getting physics benefits. One card for graphics, the other is slaved as a physics processor, rumored to work with current G70 cards, such as the 7x00 series.

If this turns out to be true, and the performance is worth the money, I would be more than happy slaving my 7800GT for physics, and upgrading to a G80 derived card down the line. Would be even more interesting if I could have an ATI card for graphics, and an Nvidia for physics... hehe

We will see, probably end of this year we will know more. Anyway this plays out, the prospects of having 1 modern card for graphics and one older for physics is very appealing.

Yep, I usually do sell off my old parts to make up the cost of upgrading, but definately would be nice if I can keep this card around for a while.

Right now though, a new monitor, and a dual core X2 or Opteron are in my sights... I cant wait for august, once the AMD price cuts come into effect. A < $200 dual core will be very attractive (sorry for being off topic.. lol)
