Yep, I was amazed the first time I turned on multisampling.

Expand the advanced options in your video card drivers, if you have a newer card it should be there.

For ATI I believe I think their top end mode is supersampling, and for Nvidia they offer multisampling and supersampling. Essentially Multisampling makes the image a little bit nicer, for very little performance hit, and supersampling makes the image alot nicer, for a substantial performance hit.

Just as an overview, adaptive/multisampling AA basically fixes sprites and models etc.. that have holes in them. Things like trees, and especially fences benefit ALOT from this. Anything that regular AA doesnt fix is fixed with adaptive AA.

Try other set of drivers, the grass looks like **** to me since the 91 series drivers.

dannyboy0492, everyones fences look like that unless they use Tranparency AA or Adaptive AA settings.
I thought BF2 didn't like card adjustments and only accepted in-game settings? Or is that only with AA? Or am I wrong on both counts?

Yes. Just set the ingame aa to off and force it in the control panel.

I've read this thread, just not clear on exactly what you recomend for superior gfx setting.

-Should I leave the setting on high in the control panel or force the AA to 4x and AF to 8/16x in the Drivers?

-I should enable multi/super sampling in the driver?

My specs are below, just got the new mem and new gfx card. Thanks for the help.

With that system I'd try to force 4x msAA, and 16x AF.

                          BF2 can look extremely well.

Op, follow Wreck's advice about forcing AA and AS in the drivers. BF2 looks so much better once I forced it in the drivers.

I am straight on the 0xAA in-game...set drivers AA to 6x.

As for the Aniso Filt, the in-game setting/equivalent is called Texture Filtering...so should we turn this to low as well before making the driver change to 16xAF?

That one works with the override setting regardless. You can turn it to low or whatever and it will still work.
