    HD Benchmark thread

    We've all seen 3dMark comparison threads, super pi threads, and the like. So I though I'd start a HD Benchmark Thread so we can compare HDs.

    The program to use is HDTach, simple little download HERE. We will be comparing the long test.

    Please post the following info.

    Drive Manufacturer
    Size
    Interface
    RPM
    Cache
    Results.

    Example: Mine would be

    Western Digital
    150GB
    SATA
    10,000
    16MB
    Random Acess 7.9Ms
    CPU Util 7%
    Avg Read 78.1 MB/s
    Burst 138MB/s

        Hailin' back to the old school!

        this is ye old AMD 1800+, Nvidia 5200 Ultra, 640mb of RAM Compaq system I played BF2 on for a year or so.

        :cry: and the old girl is still running..........

        EDIT: and no, that is not a notebook hard drive. This is a desktop computer.

          This is on a diff. machine, so I'll post the one from my machine later.
          Specs are:
          X2 3800+ @ 2.4ghz
          Asus a8n-e
          2gb (2x1gb) g.skill value ram ddr 400
          7800gt 500/1.16
          Now,for the hd:

          Maxtor
          250gb
          Sata
          7200rpm
          16mb cache
          Random Acess 15.1Ms
          CPU Util 1%
          Avg Read 59.4MB/s
          Burst 216.4MB/s

                          Just one question: When you compile the list, will there be seperate charts for single hd's and raid setups?
