Are you sure? i know it already has paste, but doesnt paste tend to get old and stop working well? I mean, if it still does the job them yeah i'm not going to risk anything
When they replaced the fan, unless its attached to the heatsink, which laptop fans are not because that increases the heighth too much, they would not have removed the heatsink to begin with and therefor not affect the paste on the CPU. If they did remove the heatsink, they would have had to replace the paste anyway because of breaking the seal on it.
And no, the paste doesnt get "old". If you want to do it for peace of mind, knock yourself out, but its not necessary.
ok so now i'm sure i will have to replace the paste xD. Sorry, but I did not really tell you, but after talking to you about sending it back to the warranty, i called ASUS, and they confirmed that the warranty time was over, so i ordered a new fan model and am going to replace it myself. I had to remove the heatsink or i would not be able to remove the fan, and i can see the paste there so yeah... I have to remove it with 99% alcohol and cotton, right?
