Getting X-Fi Paltinum tomorrow, any know bugs?

    My System:
AMD Athlon 64 3200+ (might upgrade that to a X2)
    MSI K8N Neo4 Nvidia nForce 4 chipset
    2GB RAM (DDR400 PC3200)
GeForce 7600GT XXX 256MB PCIe (very pretty card)
Audigy2 zs (soon to be X-Fi Platinum)

Heard there were some conflics between the nForce 4 based chipset and the X-Fi XtremeMusic sound card (same card as the Platinum, just more toys). Also any problems with the last patch and the X-Fi settings?

no problems, I have that card, that processer, 2GB of ram and an nforce 4 motherboard. make sure you uninstall the Audigy drivers completly, and do all the drivers and installation for the x-fi right. heres what you should do

put in x-fi (drivers for audigy already gone)
    install drivers from the disk
    download latest drivers from creative.com
double click them and install them, DO NOT uninstall the disk drivers, it automatically updates, keep them installed or it will cause problems
    and you win.
make sure you are always in gaming mode before gaming, or it can cause problems. but no issues here i love it!

if you use the microphone in the front panel that comes with the platinum....set the input to line2/mic 2 or else games wont pick it up.

Cool, so I guess the front mic dosn't override/mute the rear mic. Any notes on plugin my headset in the front (does that atleast have an overwrite or mute, meh I can always just turn my speakers off)? One of the reasons I got this was cause I would of needed to do some surgery on some cables to have front case input/outputs on my case. I disabled my onboard sound thus killing my front mic/output.

yeah, make sure its set to linein2 or w/e when you use the front. theres sopme settings you can fiddle witih but youll see those and mess with them pretty easily.

Some how, people seem to always miss the nice stickid warnings. Hardware related stuff, in the tech center section. Next time, it goes into the trash.

Anyways, you no conflicts with the newer nforce4 boards. A patch fixed that problem. I personally don't fidn any FPS problems with the new patch, but some people may still find massive FPS drops. There is a fix in the creative forums if you are having that problem.

OMG, love this card I have it hooked to Logitech Z-5300e speakers.

On a note, this card is a pain in the hind to set up, cleaning out the drivers is not easy and if you miss anything you get crackling and hissing coming from the speakers. I had to call support on how to clean and remove my old Audigy drivers, if anyone is having a similar problem this should help:

I do think this card is a bit over complicated compared to the Audigy2 zs, all these various setting :p All an all I spend a good afternoone just figuring out what I could do with this card, time well spend. But I do miss the Audigy2 zs, install drivers and go vs. Gaming mode, Entertianment mode or and remembering to turn off certian settings to have true surround sound and turning it back on to have virtual surround on my headset.
