With the new patch, I'm getting poor performance as well. Everything was fine on all previous patches, not a dog of a machine

Also, if I hit refresh on my Favorites server list, they all disappear, have to quit,and come back in.

Hmm... I've just noticed that I made the shipping address on the order Nottingham, instead of Nottinghamshire. That won't matter will it? They'll still be able to figure out where I am from the post code won't they? :hmm:

If it were me I'd try and get in touch with them and fix the shipping address just to be sure. It never hurts to call and get it changed. Besides it looks like you ordered it today so I seriously doubt that it has shipped yet.

On topic, I went from 1GB to 3GB (the rest of my system is totally different than yours) but I noticed a HUGE improvement in load times and random lag during rounds. Hope everything works out for you.

Firstly, I think I should give you my specs. Here is an image of the dxdiag results:

By the way my graphics card is an AGP Radeon X800 Pro 256bit 256mb.

Right now I have all my settings on low, with a resolution of 800x600 72Hz (my monitor supports much more) and I get crap performance, I mean when I move around and look around it runs very laggy and it's definately not internet lag. I remember being able to play the demo with everything on medium and textures on high and it ran perfect. Now, PLEASE tell me this is a problem with this new 1.3 patch, PLEASE say it's true. My PC isn't screwed is it? By the way this problem is worse when i'm moving around alot, i.e. a vehicle, it's horrible and I know my PC can handle games better than this!

It's 1.3. I'm in the same boat.

My rig: a Dell XPS Gen 2 w/2GB and nVidia 6800 Ultra w/256mb. EVERYTHING was performing fine for me until 1.3.

Well Heres My Specs And I Agree Since Patch 1.3 I Have Had To Go Down To Med Settings!!! My Card Is A Ati Radeon 800 Gto..before The Patch I Was On High On All Including Anti L..x2..so What Is It??

So it could be the patch? Well they sure have TOTALLY screwed up with this patch, it's worse than it was at first with the demo.. ALOT worse! Well the memory was shipped today, so I hope that it does arrive here and not somewhere else in nottingham with the same address as me, seeing as I forgot to put nottinghamshire, but it should be fine, they'll find me with the postcode and house number, surely! I'm personally doubting that having 1.7gb ram will help with this lag much, I believe it's the patch that's screwing the performance up because I could run the demo on medium->high with the res at 1024x768 perfectly!

I sure hope this works, or EA at least release a patch fix

i think its laggin becos of your processor. the amd 2400 is really old. u got a gd gpu but old cpu. thats nt gd. u shld upgrade your cpu. shld help alot that way.

As soon as I get about £150-£200 I should be able to get a new motherboard and a 3400 processor, or maybe a 3700 if I can get the money!

i just noticed u have a very old motherboard model too. change that too. that will definitely help. u can get the current amd939 dual core models or wait for the am2 boards, those are gd.

I get chronic performance on 64player maps, used to be fine in 1.12 and got progressively worse, i have a crap a CPU so i think they've added more logic slowing it down( as i have an AGP X850Pro OC'd with 16 pipelines, 513GPU/690Mem which should be fine for the GFX and a XiFi XtremeMusic ), but i did do a complete bf2 reinstall and SF and 1.3 full patch last week then setting optimizers and shaders, then defragging, and i no longer go to 12FPS in certain areas and was playing SF Ghosttown last night( 42Player server ) and for the first time it was averaging around 35FPS( i would say 25FPS was the lowest and it rarely went to that ), so i dunno, try it, it may help

I think it could be your processor. Athlon 2400+ is a little old I believe, but if you could play the demo that's wierd. Also check how much Hard Drive space you have left (cuz bf2 is like 7 times bigger then demo). hope you find it out.

I've now got 1.75gb ram, and I even tryed uninstalling BF2 and installing the 1.22 patch, but there's no difference. Maybe an increase of 5 FPS but that's all. I think as you guys are saying that it's my processor. So as soon as I get the money, I'll get a new motherboard and processor then my PC should be fine. I'm fed up with my PC, it has never worked properly, the strangest thing is I was playing the demo all medium/high perfectly! Maybe it's the DVD I have? I bought it off ebay, maybe that's it, but I doubt it because he said it was new. Then again I never totally trust buying stuff off ebay :hmm:

Time to sell even more of my stuff to get even more new hardware that probably won't even make it any better *sigh*

the demo was small, only 16 player, didnt need alot of resources, definitely could work better. if u played on a low ping 16 player server, u probably get a pretty gd performance too.

There was 32 player and 64 player on the demo too, I'm sure :hmm:

Run adaware and virus scans. Also "download" tuneup utilities and clean up your comp.

Your spec should handle BF2 easily on medium 1024x768, my 9800 pro with 1gig did.

first test with other games/benchmarks. if you get bad score than reinstall drivers/update bios whatsoever if you get good score cleare bf2 cache and it does not help reinstall the whole game offline with firewall and antivirus program turned off...
