New to EVGA 7600 GT

I just got my 7600 GT from newegg, and i dont know how to do all the good stuff to make my performance better. Here's my computer specs,

I have a 300 Watt PSU and only 512 mb RAM with 400Mhz. Is this the problem, the 7600 gt requires a minimum of 400 watt power supply and i still get to play Bf2, but horrible, And i dont know how to put my graphics card on High settings to make better fps. Please help me what to do?

Oh yea and I think i have the regular patch, never installed a new one, is this why i only get like a refresh of 20-30 servers???

Advice? Get a better PSU and more ram. Your graphic card is getting bottlenecked by your low ram. You can't play BF2 probably even on Medium with the amount of ram you have. You need 2gs of ram to play BF2 on high. Buy more ram now.

Omgosh, didn't know Ram was that important. Can you reccomend what Type of Ram i should get???

Oh yea, because i have 100 watts lower than the minimum, would that hurt my graphics card??? Like can something bad happen to it?>>such as breaking down or something bad?

And also should i download the new patch 1.3??

Kingston, Corsair, ocz, all good. Get a 2 gig dual channel, compliments the card well. Value ram should do you fine... you're not OC'ing and it's cheap, since you've just emptied your pockets on the card...

Kingston, Corsair, ocz, all good. Get a 2 gig dual channel, compliments the card well. Value ram should do you fine... you're not OC'ing and it's cheap, since you've just emptied your pockets on the card...

Get a 2 gig dual channel??? Whats a 2 gig dual channel??? ( i dont know much about hardware)

And I see that Ram isn't that cheap, like get 2 gigs = about 200$ crazyniss, cost more than my graphics card. >.<

Ohhhh, :laugh: , my bad im kinda low on stuff like that, and i think i might get Antec Power supply 500 watt. I think that shall be goood enough.

Well, if you want to play you have to download the the full 1.3 patch.

I am playing even without the 1.3 patch though>>does that mean all those servers are just using the regular patch????

Yes, an overstrained PSU can cause it to burn out, and when it burns out there is a possibility of it catching fire, flying sparks, or shorting out your computer.

Well it coud probably last for about 2 weeks or so. But its just not healthy for your system I guess.
