    A mobo for BF2?

    Hi,

I am upgrading my old socket A system soon and am undecided on what mobo
to get. I was thinking Asus A8N delux SLI but then I found out that the second card on an SLi setup only boosts performance 30 - 40 % which I find very dissapointing.

anyways using a single card setup on an SLI board is this the best way to go?

could you reccomend a cheap mobo & cpu combo for around 120gbp/$210

I can afford a 2nd hand asus A8n sli should I stick with that?

I have an Asus A8n sli deluxe and only run 1 card. Its kinda ghey that when you get a second they run parallel in PCI-E X8 mode, but right now im doin fine with the full X16 on one card

Maybe you should look at AM2, or if you won't be buying for awhile look at getting a Conroe setup.

        ^^^^

Am2 or conroe all the way. DDR is dead and buried, dont lock yourself into another dead platform like socket A.

AM2 is AMD's new processor range, and have only just been released. Among other improvements, it brings support for DDR2 memory. Nvidia have launched a new chipset for it (nForce 5).
