Don't get it. Since you are obviously an intel fan, wait until conroe comes out.

well i would prefer amd but it seems that AM2 is just not up to par with the 9xx intel series and is much more expensive, and im not sure when conroe is coming out and i would like to upgrade soon because its the beginning of summer and i would like to be able to use it alot this summer

Coming out July 20-something or 19 (not entirely sure, around there)
But its worth it. Cheap and powerful.

Im still waiting for the G80 Nvidia series to come out before I build a new comp.

The am2 is still superior to the 9xx series in every way, but waiting to see if conroe is as good as they say it is is a better bet.

Any chart by chart comparsion with AM2 to the 9xx series?

the only AM2 chips that beat 9xx is the fx-62 and the 5000+ which r $1000 and $600-700, compared to the intel chip at 300-400 which is overclockable to over 4ghz easily

or is it better to get the 4800+ and overclock it a bit? and get some ddr2 800 ram

im just tryign to stay under 1000 bucks for my total upgrade
