Getting new card

7600GT or X1600XT, they are both around the same price, but which should i get?

7600gt, when oc'ed can almost be as fast as a 7800gt.

well, it only has 12 pipelines, whereas the 7800gt has 20. and it also has a 128bit memory interface, wheras the 7800gt has a 256bit. It can probably OC up to the same speeds, but I doubt the same performance.


as for the original question. 7600gt. it performs a tiny bit better than a 6800gt.

6800gt = 6800gs
6800gs > x1600.

This could also be a possible option: X850XT, 256 bit memory, and 16 pixel pipelines.

as for the original question. 7600gt. it performs a tiny bit better than a 6800gt.

6800gs > x1600.

But the core and mem speeds can make up for its lack of pipelines. I never said it was as fast, but with a good oc its still a little close.

evga = better warrenty and can be clocked the same as the XFX

The 7600 GT CO is no doubt better then the X1600 512. Read around and you'll see the 7600 GT is one of the best value of money deals around.
