I brought this up in another thread about X-fi and thought it worth posting for general consumption. If you have a Dell Audigy 2 soundcard, Dell will upgrade you to X-fi for free (and WHAT a difference!). There's some glitch with the OEM version of Dell's Audigy 2 and it doesn't support microphone use (VOIP...). If you go to Dell's site and find your way to the desktop forums (I have an XPS 400 so I found this in the XPS dedictated forum), then PM the administrator there (Chris) your name, address, the info about your pc, and tell of your frustration getting the mic to work, you'll have your new X-fi card inside of about 3 days! Do a search on mic issues to find Chris's ID to pm him. It's worth it.
