XP problems due to x800xl's drivers??

This is a "oh help me god"-kind of problem...

One day I started up the comp and there were vertical spotty lines going across the screen. It got worse at the log-in screen, where I type my password, at which the screen froze and then, after about 4-5sec, turned black and would remain like that.

I have to reboot about 15 times before I get a blue error screen comming up saying something about "ati2dvag". I figured it was something to do w my 'new' GPU so I changed back to the original x300 and for some reson it worked. It still worked when I installed the Cat 6.5's for the x300, something which didnt work for the x800xl...

So now I'm stuck with the x300 and gaming is down atm

What can I do to get everything to work with my x800xl again, like since the day I got it??

grateful for feedback and your help!:salute:

Use drivercleaner to remove all traces of your drivers:
Akses VIRUS88 sebagai agen Slot88 resmi dan terpercaya 2026 dengan game gacor terbaru, proses praktis, promo harian menarik, serta layanan online 24 jam.

After doing this, shutdown PC and try using your x800xl again, and install drivers.

Also make sure that the fan of your x800xl is running and supplying enough cooling for your GPU.

yeah, uninstall the current drivers, use driver cleaner, shut down, put in x800, boot up and install driverrs for it. if the problem still occurs then it is slightly possible you just got a bad card.

crap... I did all what you guys sais and still I get stuck at the login screen after I have inserted the x800xl and installed either cat6.5 or the omega (the one based on 6.5). it worked fine for about 4 months this card and now I cant log in with it . what the hell happened? fan was running and everything....

I'll see if it's the same with my own computer which is the exact same model, that should tell me for sure if the card is messed up right?

          grammar police!!!

anyways, if you did all that, and yourscreen is still messed up...
          1. how is it messed up?
          2. its possible that you overclocked it too much, or had poor heating or something and the card died or went bad.

yeahyeah:) coming from a guy called sackynut...:p

when I start the computer there's blue dots forming vertical lines every 1.5cm or so from left to right over the whole screen. sometimes they become white for a while until another screen loads... then, at login, the whole screen goes black and locks up, just after I click my profile to enter my password....

it's damn frustrating too if that'll help ya troubleshoot

I didnt overclock it since I knew I didnt have any oc stuff i.e. a good fan and before I made sure it didnt get too hot et c via ati tray tools/whatever it's called. It ran fine for the first months and it just started last week or so.

It sounds like it's on its last legs and is prob gonna die soon. I'd contact the manufacturer and try to rma it.

I did open out the fan-case thing, to reach the fan blades, and cleared it out w a q-tip so I think it's void right?

                what's rma btw?

If you don't tell them you did that and it isn't really obvious, I doubt they'll care. As for the rma:
