I use the regular Audigy 2 and it rocks. Now you can hear the lag in 7.1 Surround THX!!!!

lol i bought 5.1 speakers, but my integrated sound can't play them, and ive just been too lazy to get a new card lol

Glad you like them. When I first got mine in and installed, when I heard BF2 on ultra high from Nforce2 sound, I cried with joy. It's a wonderful card.

Yeah I love my X-Fi card! It's a huge improvement in situation awareness (at least with headphones). You can pretty much place any gunshots and easily hear people sneaking up on you, well most of the time.

I got an Xfi platinum in my rig which already had a nforce 4 sound and it blew me away. its awesome and I serisouly do recommend it to everyone as well. I loved it so much I bought the Audigy 2Zs for my laptop!

I cant afford 5.1 or higher speaker system, but it makes these $30 headphones sound like gold, i can only imagine!

Got mine for $199 from a promotion that Creative had going on at a major gaming event (QuakeCon).

it sounds gd, but i have this nagging problem. whenever i first start the com, there is no sound i gotta change the speaker setting, at least once to get the sound on. for eg, change from headphones to 2.1 speakers. everytime i start any game, it jus has no sound until i alt tab out n change the speaker setting to something else then the sound comes back. anyone has the problem?

Heh, I had a similar reaction last night when I realized there was a drop down for X-fi in the game (been playing with it set to hardware for the last couple weeks since my X-fi arrived to replace my Audigy 2). Kept crashing to desktop after I selected X-fi and Ultra High settings. Then I installed the new Creative beta drivers and voila, it's a whole new level of game!

Incidentally, I got mine for free from Dell. If you got an Audigy 2 from Dell, their OEM version doesn't play nicely with microphones (VOIP...) and Dell knows it, and anyone contacting the administrator on the Dell XPS forum with this problem gets a new X-fi...

Here's one thread on the issue, and you'll see Chris, the administrator's posts -- just pm him. No doubt in the thread somewhere you'll find all the info to include in the PM, but essentially it's name, phone, address, email, and the id number on top of your CPU.
