Ok, well after that very close enounter where my GPU got up to 100* and my CPU 96*, mobo to 75* and HDD to 45*, i would really like to know what are safe temps. They are now back down to 48/58/52/38 respectivley.. but i would like to know what is safe.

Re: Temperatures
For the GPU that is acceptable, for the CPU that is not. Like in my other post, look for some apps to control the fan speed. If that doesnt work you might want to take it apart and reapply some AS5 paste.
50-60*C is the max you want a CPU, any more and its just too high.
One thing to keep in mind however is that the temp reading might be innacurate, 96*C sounds unbelievably high but there is no telling if that figure is accurate.

Re: Temperatures
C, my GPU was n the 200*F, that was when the fan stopped, after letting it cool for 5 min and restarting they are now at the stab;le temps of... 48C CPU, 57C GPU. Still hot, but the fan cuts out when the CPu drops below 49...
So yeai do need a fan conrtoler, to get it any lower.

Re: Temperatures
No, i only gt it yesterday afternoon, so ive had it for less than 18 hrs.
Its running fine now, the only thing is that the fan stops when the temp is less than 49C on the CPU, which means that it rarely gets lower than that. Its prob like hat to save battery, just wish i could change it. So ill look for that fan conrtoller.

Re: Temperatures
96 for a cpu = very very bad. 65/70 is already pushing it badly. Call your manufacturer to see if you hvae a defective part soem where.

Re: Temperatures
Yea, it turned out to be the fan, it stopped turning back on, so they are going to ship out a new laptop for me..

Re: Temperatures
yes, thats a little high. It kind of depends what processor you have though. An AMD 64 should run around 40C under load. But my Intel used to run around 50-60C under load.

Re: Temperatures
That is excellent temperatures, the only thing you need to lookout for is keeping too much dust from getting in your heatsinks/fans in the future.Originally posted by killemallbf2Oh sry my cpu runs 36 C and my gpu runs 53 under load 49 C idle.
