I overclocked my CPU a while back with great success (THIS THREAD).
I have a Winchester core Athlon 64 3000+ (stock 1800 MHz) and overclocked it to 2205 MHz quite easily with just stock HSF by increasing my FSB to 425 MHz, lowering my RAM frequency to 333 MHz, adjusting my HT frequency, and increasing my voltage.
Was increasing my voltage from 1.40 v to 1.45 v necessary? Was that too much of an increase? Was it necessary at ALL?
I'm asking because I have read a few similar accounts where people have felt that the voltage increase wasn't even needed. I have had no real problems in BF2 but I DID start having a weird texture glitch every so often (see HERE)and I HAVE had some shimmering texture issues in Tomb Raider Legend (came free with my videocard but AN EXCELLENT adventure nonetheless) and the readme states that these artifacts are due to overclocked CPUs.
