Clearly S.A.S you know nothing.... I used to have an identical system to what he just said and I run everything High, 4x anti & 100% view distance... and I dont lag. Get a 256 6600 and your right. Looking at your stats S.A.S your either lieing or you have more money then brains. Have to give you cred for getting an MSI Mobo though gg.
You may be playing great now, but the rig S.A.S. picked out is going to last waaaaay longer than yours and its not much more expensive.

So "Katy", i read in one of your other posts that you have an sli equipped comp and are currently building a crossfire setup. If ya ask me, that seems like youve got more money than brains also Please explain, because you also said you "used" to have the exact same setup as "thelast500". Now who would get rid a a perfectly fine setup like that? More money than brains?? hmmm..(pondering )
I also use an old 6600 gt 128 mb Oc@1200/600 and run the game in
1280*1024 resolution with a decent 60-90 fps. Geometry/Textures:high 4*aa, rest low and dynamic shadows off. Looks very decent and enemies are easier to spot since you have no real eyecandy.
If you want all the eyecandy the 6600 gt simply wont do the job. Go with at least a 7900 for that matter.
cpu: amd 3200+, 1,5 gig ram fsb 400 and of the course the drivers: 77.92
(are the best for me, the newer ones gives me lower fps)
If it was up to me i would go buying Opteron 144. Those new steppings are amazing, 2.8-3.0Ghz @ Def volt Prime/SP2004 stable. Also it would save a lot of money, witch would help you to buy a better card or more memory.
2x1gb G.Skill PC-4000
I know of a few BFG factory OC'ed cards that even come with a better cooler than the stock cooler, to help keep the GPU cool when they oc'ed it. With the upgraded cooler, you can run it even faster!
yeh but BFG cards are over priced big time, when it has been proven there no better than the stock heat sinks. I recommend XFX for good cards ive had 3 one a 6600GT, 6800GT and a 7800GTx and all have been great OCers and stay cool while being quiet!
ok also i hasve another question!!!anyone who has a stock heatsink and uses the 6600 gt 128mb factory ocd card, when you oc it even more, how much fps can u get out of it? thnx again.

I agree with that. xfx cards are a bit more expensive but u get a decent card for that. Never had any problems with these cards nor do i know someone who has.
eVGA all the way for me. Fairly cheap, and eVGA almost always offers a rebate for their graphics cards (When I bought my 7600GT for $180, it came with a $20 mail in rebate). They also overclock really well, or at least mine did.
