Hi, I recently moved from the 84.96 forceware to the latest 91.28's. And It seems like my FPS has dropped slightly. I'm trying to figure out if anyone thinks it might be the patch or that these drivers just suck. Cause if its the drivers I'll just go back to 84.96. My specs are 6800gs, 2.8p4, 2gbRAM. OEM PSU(sucks, 250W).

Ive heard people complain that the patch lowers FPS, and ive also heard that some people are getting good results with the new drivers. Im betting it on the patch. -

I have generally heard a complaint that the next 9x series beta drivers are dropping FPS vs the older 8x's. Seems like the beta has soem ways to go.Comment

agreed. i reverted back to the 84.x series because the beta ones definitely screwed with my fps. It was a big difference.

this will be a dumb question but....What is a "forceware driver"? I have a Geforce 6800 card and I just use the drivers from nvidia.com. Is there something better I can be using and just dont know of it?Comment

Of course, what drivers do u have now? that is the important question. Until you come across some advice on some better drivers, I'd advise you to go to www.tweaksrus.com and DL the 83.90 drivers. About 60-70, with 8xS, 16xAF, transperancy supersampling. I actually like these new drivers a lot, they give me way more sli options than the old ones did.Originally posted by DethredComment

See, thats rediculous, I used to get 70-90 with this single 7800GT a few months ago. Albeit I only had 4xAA and 8xAF, it was still pretty good. Didn't you notice a performance drain after one of the last few patches?Comment

Yeah, everything after 1.22. For awhile I had to set it back to 4xaa and 8xaf just to get it playable again. These drivers have helped a little though.Originally posted by DethredComment
