wtf? I don't see how. I could barely run it without lag on all low with 1.5 gigs of RAM. Are you referring to single or multiplayer? Anyway, more is about the only thing that helps with this card. During the time I had it I went from .512 to 1.5gb of RAM and it decreased lag alot. I also found the 77.77 drivers to work best for that card.

      my x800XL runs the game at medium/high anything else and I get under 30fps, but it doesn't mean I don't play at 1600 x 1200 :)

Doesn't matter, I need tips on which ATI/Nvidia card I can buy to get alot of performance from BF2 !

Ok, here are some names I've checked and which I am interested in. Could you please tell me if these are good or not and wether they will give a medium/high settings-performance in BF2?

          ATI (256MB):
          RADEON X1300 PRO/XT
RADEON X800GT/XL (my friend has one of these, he says it's perfect)

          nVidia:
          GeForce 6600 512MB
          7600GS 256MB

There are quite big differences in the clock-speeds on these cards, and from what people have said to me the clock-speeds are more important than the memory-size. Is this true?

What cards do you guys have? Any of the above? Any tips you want to share?

The 7600GS is a good card and will run BF2 good. Just remember the more graphics you crank up the more ram you will need. BF2 needs about 2GB of ram to run in all it's glory.

7600 GS ftw, new gfx technology, such as sm 3.0, and really good performance, all at a nice low price.

ATI and NVIDIA have so much in common, you have no idea... all the circuit boards are designed by the same person.

Its not really BS as you consider it, let me get some reference.

You make the comparisons, I don't have to point it out.

                                Dont get that one ^^

If your nvidia inclined go for a 6800gt or a 6600gt(cheaper) anything lower is a waste of cash and you''ll need to upgrade again shortly.

But dont go for any Nvidia 5XXX series or ATI 9XXX series cards there too old now, they might be cheap but there cheap because there at the very end of there lives.

How much do you have to spend?
And did you decide if you wanted an AGP, PCI, or PCI-experess card?
