New XP install - swap file, HD org question

Just installed win xp pro.
I have 3 hard drives. An old 20gig, old 40gig, and a 120gig Sata(1.5).
I put xp on the 20 gig.
Was thinking of using the 40 gig as a dedicated P2P drive and
putting BF2 on the sata 120.
Any suggestions appreciated.
My main question is about the windows swap file. Should I just keep that on the 20 gig with the windows install?

Personally I would just get rid of the IDE drives and just use the SATA, on a purelly performance basis this is the way to go.

You can't install BF2 on a different hard drive than C:\, sorry.

Pretty sure the difference between SATA and PATA is negligible. The performance is still limited by the drive itself and not the interface.

Unlees either the 20 or 40 gig drive is a 7200 rpm drive, I wouldn't bother using them for anything other than storage/backup. If they are not 7200 rpm drives, you would be better off make a partition or two on the 120 gig drive, a 15-20 gig one for Windows and whatever requires C, and the rest as how you see fit. If one of the old drives is a 7200 rpm drive, I would still install Windows on the 120 gig drive, and then make a small 3-5 gig partition on the smaller drive for the pagefile.

As BurnTheWeed said, sure you can, you just select custom install and select which drive you want to put it on. Now the EA Downloader on the other hand, that insists on installing to C, but with a little creative editing of the Prefs.ead file, you can install it on any drive/partition you want.

I have my C drive for windows and swap file and my D drive for games (where Battlefield 2 resides). Both drives are IDE

It may not be the best setup, but it's what I use

U install windows on C & the ur games or watever on ur secondry drive IE D.
