Hmm... from what I've heard, BF2 runs way better with 2 GB of ram (textures can be set on high I think). As for Windows, just borrow a copy off a friend, then burn it.

You still need a real activation key if you don't want to reformat every 30 days.
To the OP: It looks like you've picked out quality parts. The only component I might question is your monitor. I personally would go with a viewsonic one.

Oh, and it would be nice if you got a dvd drive that came with Nero, a really good piece of burning software

Just use your friend's serial, that's what I did.

As for the Monitor, I got a sick 19" widescreen for $300 CAD, and it's a beast.

everything looks cherry to me! I run a similar system, and have no problems running full at 1024*768.

How similar (jw)? because i have a system worse then his (AMD 3200, 1 gig ram, 7600gs) and i run all settings maxed at 1280x1024 at 65-70 fps. I know that isnt a bad thing, but people are always talkin stuff about how you need 2 gig of ram to put textures on high. uhhhh...no. If i had a system like yours, i dont see why i wouldnt be able to play at 1600x1200, comparing to what i play now.

Nono. If you're building a new rig, the bestest CPU you can get is a Pentium 805 - you can overclock that biatch to speeds uncomparible to even the high end cpus available.

Just make sure you get a decent motherboard and PSU, you'll smoke the AMD you're looking at for half the price.

I prefer to buy non-smoking processors anyway...

from what i've heard is that the every serial that is used, is already like "attached" to the mobo used during the registration, something like that.. so it can't be used twice on a diff comp. you can use it again on the same pc, but not on another 1. idk.. som1 can shade a light on this?

Yeah, did you also notice how it used 216 watts! Just the f*cking proc. No thanks, just oc that 3700+ or x3800+ and they will own the intel.
