7600 or 7800

i was just comparing the specs of the BFG 7800 GT OC and The BFG 7600 GT OC.

I noticed that the core clock and the memory clock is higher in both aspects on the 7600. However, the 7800 has more vertices/second and a better GB/Second memory bandwidth.

So overall, what card is better?

The 7800GT is the better card. Check hardware reviews/benchmarks. The 7800GT has double the memory interface, 8 more pixel pipes and 2 more vertex pipes.

Its not a helluvalot faster, the clockspeed of the 7600GT does make up for alot of deficiences, but the 7800GT is solidly in a seperate class of cards compared to the 7600GT.

One thing to remember, the actual performance and image quality is all that matters with video cards IMO. I dont care if a card operates at X clockspeed, all that matters is what sort of FPS it gets for the money. Thats all that should matter to you as well.

7800 is better. even though one card might be newer etc., it still goes in order

Except for most purposes, 7800gtx=7900gt.
