Ok, here is the problem in a nutshell....I randomly reboot, other times freeze (mouse stops responding so does everything else). I get and error message at the BSOD after reboot, buncha jumbled crap...w/e. So, at first, i thought it was a ram problem, tis not. I tried several different sticks of ram at no avail, they all crashed eventually. I know something is wrong, i just don't know what. And lucky for me, I have enough money to replace anything i need to.

if you pc randomly reboots (i assume ur using XP) as xp reboots itself when it has a problem, you can disable it via;

Right Click my computer > properties > advanced > startup & recovery > untick the automatically restart box, try that?

have you recently installed anything new that might have caused it?,
have you checked device manager to see if their is any problems?

What PSU (Power Supply Unit) u using? How much Watts has it got? That could be your issue as not enough power is getting to the hardware.

I have done that, you know what it does? Nothing. If I am lucky enough that it DOES reboot, versus just freezing (no mouse) i get a pretty blue screen that tells me that something has gone wrong, and there are hex numbers on it (IE 0x0000.....ect)

I am using the generic psu that came with the case. I know SCOLD! But it has been working fine since last christmas, so why should things die now?

If that is what is wrong, and you are sure of it, i will order a 500 watt Antec right now, but if u are not, then i need to figure that out first, because i don't wanna go on a part replacing frenzy.

ooh, and btw, the only things (hardware wise) i have changed are swapping ram, but this happened before that, so couldn't be that. Also, generally, itunes is the thing to make it crash, while it will crash in other apps, the fastest way to kill it is by opening itunes. Sometimes it is fine, others it dies....wtf man.....W T F.....*cry in corner*

I had it installed at first and it looked fine. After a while I started getting blue screens and uninstalling the firewall fixed it. I'm behind a hardware firewall anyway.

Yes I did install the firewall, and it is crappy, but I never really thought about it, so uninstall I go. I figured that my Creative X-FI is causing so many problems now, I wonder whether it is making this reboot. I took it out, no stop yet, but i haven't tried anything massive.

The BSOD basically says that the system reboot to keep my machine from frying. at the bottom it says "STOP: 0x0000007E (0x000....ECT)

I'm not an expert at this but I think below the line STOP: () there will be a mention of a .sys or .dll file, which may give an indication of the driver that actually crashed.

The nvidia firewall has me puzzled somewhat as it ran fine for a month or so. At some point I would just get these BSODs and after some googling I thought I might give removing it a try. Never had a BSOD since (except when I oc'ed by cpu/mem).

Seeing as how i have seen that screen MANY times i can tell you that not once was there a .sys or dll in there, all hex numbers. At this point, just for kick a giggles, I removed my X-FI xtrememusic and guess what, itunes still won't play, but that is because there is no sound card and it is like ," WTF do I play to?" CS:S will not launch either, well for the same reason. BF2 however, will, and I played PRMM for an hours and nothing happened. The computer stay on all night until a power brown out, and even after that nothing. So i have sent an e-mail to creative seeing as how they were closed when i made this discovery....they have $130 of my heard erneed money and 7 MONTHS (WTF!!!!!!1oneONE0|\/3one !!!) and no driver update. Over 100 page thread on THEIR forums, still, the one guy that is a creative labs employee for forums admining dodges the question. They claim they have to be "recertified" by Micro$oft......Does anyone know any sound cards that will support EAX 5 under $200 not made my creative?

a PSu that comes with the computer/case is a low end crappy PSU. U mite want to invest in something like a TAGAN, HIPER, ANTEC, AKASA PSU

Get a new PSU, never use a PSU which comes with the case very low quality usually, get a new PSU and Im sure that'll solve the problem

I didn't even read all of what u said but make sure ur virus protection is up to date (my aunt ran 1 ad-ware scan after not having protection and found 1126 things)
